May 31, 2019:

This amazing trio pay tribute to iconic groups such as Peter, Paul & Mary and Crosby, Stills & Nash:

Long Island band Gathering Time

According to the band’s website, the band was “Voted best band runner-up (and top folk band) in the 2011 Long Island Press readers’ poll, Gathering Time is like a high-energy Peter, Paul & Mary or a co-ed Crosby, Stills & Nash, with various parts of The Byrds, Joni Mitchell, the Eagles and America mixed in; a head-turning folk-rock harmony trio described recently as “getting a whole beehive-full of buzz” on the northeast regional folk scene.”

Heavily influenced by those musicians and bands, Gathering Time not only plays and sings their classic songs, but also provides anecdotes and insight into those bands.

Besides playing other people’s material, the threesome also writes and performs their own original folk-rock songs.

Gathering Time includes (from left) Stuart Markus on acoustic guitar and bass, Hillary Foxsong on percussion and guitar and Gerry McKeveny on acoustic and electric guitars and bass. All three performers take turns as lead and background vocalists, and write the group’s original material.
