Bus Duty Coming to Huntington

May 29, 2018

The Bus Duty Band will be performing at the Black and Blue Seafood Chophouse on Friday night, June 22nd from 9:30 until the last person drops!

Long Island's Bus Duty Band

According to band guitarist Rick Purdy, “Huntington asked and we listened!”.   And that means his band will be playing at the Black and Blue Seafood Chophouse, located at 65 Wall Street, in Huntington.

The Long Island band, Bus Duty   is what can happen when a group of public-school teachers get together and form a rock band.

Bus Duty   focuses on pop and rock classics from the 60s through 90s and a lot of music from today. The band got its start when a few teachers at an elementary school (Sunquam Elementary, which is part of the Half Hollow Hills School District) started to perform for school events and fund-raisers.

The teachers had so much fun and realized they sounded quite good. To make matters even better, there was an instant and great chemistry within the band.

Make no mistake – the band was not assembled with rock – “wanna be’s” who were not qualified or ready to gig. Three of the Bus Duty   members are full-time music teachers and they and the other band members have extensive experience in gigging in other bands.

Anyone who has witnessed a Bus Duty   show knows that the band rocks hard, performing music ranging from 70s rock classics, disco and funk, to 90s and today’s alternative hits, all sprinkled in with the bands most popular original music.

So tell your friends and get a sitter because this even promises to be the Summer-Slam 2018 Kickoff!

For more information, to book the band, or to see a calendar of upcoming events go to or “Like” the band on Facebook.

Get on the BUS!

Breslau Bombers Invade the North Babylon Street Fair, Sunday May 20th

May 18, 2018

Besides getting to see the Breslau Bombers perform classic rock from the 60s – 80s for free, there’s plenty more to do at this event:

north babylon street fair and the breslau bombers 2018

The fair opens at 11 AM and the Breslau Bombers hit the stage at 2:45 PM.

The North Babylon Street Fair is free to all and will have other live acts and bands (although getting a list of performers proved impossible at the time of this writing).

Besides music, other events include a petting zoo, a huge car show, delicious food, inflatable rides, a North Babylon History Exhibit and plenty more.

The Breslau Bombers played the event last year and drew a huge crowd; so it was a no-brainier for the organizers to invite the band back again this year.

To see and hear the Breslau Bombers, be at the South Stage at the corner of Phelps Lane and Deer Par Avenue at 2:45 PM, Sunday, May 20th.

To learn more about the Breslau Bombers, please visit their web site: and like them on facebook:
